Sam imageSam Davis, BSc (hons)

Operations Manager

Sam deals with the practical aspects of CML; namely finance, administration, IT, communications and advertising. He moved to Watford in 2009 to help Greg pioneer the centre and has played a significant role in branding the CML vision.  He assisted in the design and then project managed the £100,000 refurbishment of the CML building.

Social enterprise is one of his passions, believing that business has responsibility for positive social influence and is interested principally in the area of physical health. Sam studied social science, reading Biological Anthropology at the University of Kent. Being an outdoorsman, prior to CML Sam worked skippering a classic yacht in his home land of Cornwall.

He loves traveling, photography, wine tasting, film, water-sports and martial arts.

Chris imageChris Moffat MA (hons)

Executive Administrator

Chris is responsible for student recruitment in the locality as well as coordinating student mentors and the missional placements.

Following a gap year in Uganda, Chris read Economics at Cambridge University before moving to Watford to become one of the directors of Presence Retail Ltd: an innovative and pioneering expression of ‘business as mission’ at the heart of the town. Chris loves his adopted town of Watford and has a passion to pray to see it transformed by the power of God.

He enjoys being in the great outdoors, hanging out with good friends and relaxing to a good movie. As well as his duties at CML Chris manages the Watford based charity The Barn.

OllieOliver Mantel

Media Administrator

When not working, Ollie studies the Bible Overview and Discipleship modules at CML. As an intern he pioneers and produces digital media content, is responsible for financial administration, and maintains the database.

Before joining the CML team, Ollie was living and working for a law firm as a filing clerk in Manchester.  Ollie enjoys his unique status as the token northerner on the team! (he thinks Greg is not a real northerner!)

In his spare time he enjoys socialising and being in the countryside as he is an avid climber. His highlights thus far of the intern year have been studying his chosen modules, where he has learnt a great deal and the staff training week in September at Centre Parcs where we studied ‘strengths based leadership’ and he got to understand how to utilise his strengths as a part of a diverse team.

LouiseLouise Richards BA (hons)

Office Administrator & Librarian

Joined the CML team in September 2011, Louise’s role is to assist in the administration here, as well as organising and ensuring the ongoing efficiency of the new library – if you’re looking for a particular book and can’t find it; Louise is the one to ask!

Since gaining her degree at London School of Theology in 2009, Louise is now studying here at CML on the Discipleship and Leadership modules along side her administrative roles.

Outside of her work and studies, Louise could be found enjoying any one of her numerous hobbies, the newest of which is snowboarding. But you’d better watch out; one of Louise’s favourite hobbies is to play practical jokes on those around her… you have been warned!

NaomiNaomi Virgo BA (hons)

Personal Assistant to the Director

Naomi works as PA to Greg Downes, while also studying on the Bible Overview and Discipleship Modules at CML. As Greg’s PA she is responsible for organising Greg’s diary and dealing with the administration of the Director’s office.

Naomi recently graduated from the University of Sheffield, where she studied French and Russian. As a student of languages, she lived and studied in both Petrozavodsk and Paris. While in France, Naomi spent time teaching English as foreign language.

Naomi is a long distance runner, with fell running being her favourite sport, and likes nothing better than getting out into the mountains for a long run. She also likes good books and Battenberg cake, hint hint!

BeejBejoy  Pal BSc (hons)

Recruitment Administrator

Bejoy (aka Beej) is studying the Bible Overview and Mission modules alongside his role at CML. Beej aims to attract new students to CML as well as building new relationships with churches and organisations both locally and nationwide.

Before joining the team, Bejoy was working in Christian retail with Wesley Owen, Living Oasis and Manna Christian Centre in southeast London. Prior to this he studied Sports Science at Portsmouth University. After graduating he spent 6 weeks in Tanzania and Kenya coaching sport and helping to install a clean water pumps in small villages.

Away from CML Bejoy likes to play sport (a lot) and is a keen hockey player amongst other things. He also likes watching movies but debatably has seen a few too many! His highlights at CML thus far have been the team-training week at Centre Parcs and getting involved with the hustle and bustle of life as part of the Watford community.
