If you are applying from outside the EU, we strongly advise that you submit your application at least nine months ahead of the academic year you wish to begin studies or no later than 30 April as international applications take longer to process.
We are only able to accept you as a student when you can guarantee to meet the cost of your studies.
From April 2009, the UK Border Agency has brought in changes that affect all non-EU student applications to any UK educational institution.
Before applying for a visa, you must have had £5,400 in a bank account for at least a month (the UK Border Agency set figure for living costs) and a further minimum of £5,295 to cover tuition fees (the figure for Theology - Theology, Music & Worship and Theology & Counselling have slightly higher tuition fees). You will be required to produce proof of these funds.
Please note that the sponsors currently permitted under UK Border legislation are either an applicant's parents, Her Majety's Government, the applicant's home government, the British Council or any international organisation, company, university of indepedent school.
If the applicant's financial sponsor is only covering some of the fees, the applicant must show they have the rest of the money needed.
Further to this, the UK Border Agency states that, 'Tier 4 of PBS (Points Based System) allows licensed sponsors (in this case LST) to bring to the UK only those students that have a proven track record in studies.'
LST is an accredited educational institution with the UK Border and Immigration Authority. Students are therefore eligible to study in the UK as long as they successfully complete the LST application process and fulfil all other UK visa entry requirements.
