CENTRE FOR ISLAMIC STUDIES

The vision of London School of Theology’s Centre for Islamic Studies (CIS) is to serve the Church, to be an effective and invaluable resource base and to provide excellent academic training to students, churches, schools and individuals who want to increase their understanding of Islam, and Christian-Muslim relations.

The CIS provides lectures, seminars and intensive courses, on a fee-paying basis, to individuals, churches and other agencies interested in Islam and Christian-Muslim relations.

Occasional evening lectures are held on Islam. The content of these is non-academic and assumes that participants have a general interest in Islam.

The Centre provides appropriate services on a consultancy basis to Christian and corporate agencies engaged in the Muslim world.  These services include:

  • Workshops on Islam
  • Cross-cultural strategies
  • Research reports

The desired outcome of the engagement with Islam through the CIS is to dispel the fear of Islam, inspire Christians to engage with Muslims and instil confidence in the Gospel.
