THEOLOGY OF THE POOR

Credits: 40

Old and New Testament perspectives are brought to bear on contemporary issues of poverty and oppression in this module. Students look at the expression of Christian community, at liberation theology, church/state conflict and at oppression involving gender, race and minority groups. It is particularly relevant to ministry in cities and in the developing world. Many missionaries have been attracted to the course due to the relevance of this module for their context.
