Senior Lecturer in Theology and Contemporary Culture
BA (Carleton) MRE MA (Acadia) PhD (Wales)
Anna came to faith in Christ at a young age while growing up in Atlantic Canada. She studied political science in Ottawa, and after working for the Red Cross Society, went on to study theology and serve in Baptist ministry in Nova Scotia before moving to Wales to research Christian social ethics. In 2000, she joined the faculty at LST, where she has served in diverse roles from Director of Training to Acting Principal.
Anna researches, writes, and speaks internationally in the areas of social ethics, contemporary culture and apologetics, challenging Christians to think clearly about living a biblically transformative faith in a rapidly-changing world. She is the author of Methods in the Madness, and Sharing the Feast, and editor of Ecumenical and Eclectic and Christian Life and Today's World. She also serves on advisory teams for Tearfund and Theos. Anna enjoys people, creative ideas, cafes, exercise, the sea and open spaces, and is thrilled to be discovering the world anew through the eyes of her son, David.

Anna supervises students in theology, ethics, and contemporary culture. In particular, she is interested in ethical methodology, and the interface between theology, contemporary thought and apologetical method. She has a specific interest in the work of several theologians, including Reinhold Niebuhr, Walter Rauschensbusch, P.T. Forsyth, Alan P. F. Sell, and H. Richard Niebuhr. Her own research is currently focused on the interface between ethics and apologetics, and the relation of the individual to society in ethical practice.
