The study of Biblical Theology and some key biblical texts.  Also, the theme of ‘the people of God’ will be explored in various dimensions and attention given to the interface between ancient and contemporary texts.

Theology Project

Students have the opportunity of engaging the full range of theological and practical skills acquired.  Every project must include theological reflection and evidence of academic analysis and may include more general investigative methods.

Personal Spiritual & Skills Formation 3

Comprises supervised placement, spiritual formation which will focus on personal development of Christian discipleship and spirituality within the life of the church.

The Corinthian Correspondence

The study of 1&2 Corinthians, an overview of Paul’s relationship with the Corinthians and how the surviving letters fit into that history.  Links will be made to contemporary experience in discussing concepts like rights, ethics, leadership, worship, etc.

Exegesis of New Testament Texts in Greek

A critical, exegetical and theological study of the Greek text of two New Testament books such as Hebrews, 1 Peter and Ephesians.

Person and Work of the Spirit

Seeks to understand the way in which the work and the person of the Holy Spirit have been portrayed in the OT, NT and subsequent theological reflection; Develops a contemporary doctrine of the Spirit and engages with various ecclesial and theological issues in the 21st century from an integrated OT, NT, and ST perspective.

Missional Theology and Practice

Looks at contextualisation and inculturation; theology of religions; strategies and options for Missions today; globalisation, social action; key practical issues and debates in contemporary mission; Mission in: Europe, Africa, Asia, the Americas and the Muslim world.

Islam

The study of the history of Islam; the development and main themes of Islamic political thought; Islam and the West: Crusades, Colonialism and Christian missions; Islam in Britain; Women in Islam; Christian-Muslim interactions, among others.

Pastoral Leadership in the Contemporary Church

Addresses issues such as evangelical ecclesiology, the relationship between gender, culture and pastoral leadership; the characteristics and qualities of a pastoral leader; the nature of leadership in a voluntary context, etc.

Ethics of Christian Life and Community

Includes an introduction to moral philosophy, exploration of several major figures in historical Christian ethics and an assessment of their contribution, etc.

Intermediate Hebrew

Focuses on the study of three categories of texts: narrative, poetry and law.  Passages will be selected from the narrative and legal sections of the Pentateuch, Psalms, Isaiah and Song of Songs.

  • Full-Time students in Level 3 will study a total of 120 credits (80 compulsory and 40 optional), timetabled from Monday to Friday.
  • Part-Time students in the 1st Year of Level 3 will study a total of 60 credits, (40 compulsory and 20 optional), timetabled on any day. 
  • Part-Time students in the 2nd Year of Level 3 will study a total of 60 credits, (40 compulsory and 20 optional), timetabled on any day.
