FINDING HELP

There are times in our lives when we experience distressing events, and times when we can find ourselves overwhelmed with feelings that seem to have no obvious explanation. When this happens, counselling can be very helpful.

A counsellor will not minimise the problems or pass judgement, but will try to help you discover more about yourself, so that you can find your own solutions.

Watford Christian Counselling Service – a confidential service open to all.

About us

WCCS is a confidential counselling service that seeks to serve and help people in the Watford area with a range of counselling needs, including depression, bereavement and loss, stress, anxiety, marriage or relationship difficulties, etc.

Counsellors work with a Christian approach to counselling which seeks to help individuals resolve their difficulties, if appropriate through exploring the spiritual resources available to them.

We fully respect our clients’ right to make their own decisions in all aspects of life including faith, and the service is offered to all, irrespective of religious background or commitment. We use an integrative model which incorporates aspects of a number of psychotherapeutic theories, including Psychodynamic Theory, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Systemic Approaches, Gestalt Therapy and issues of Spiritual Formation, where appropriate.

We are a BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) accredited service. All of our counsellors adhere to the BACP Ethical Framework for Counselling and Psychotherapy and the Association of Christian Counsellors (ACC), and are subject to their complaints procedure. In addition the parent company of Watford Christian Counselling Service, London School of Theology, is an operational member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy. All our counsellors are trained and are either accredited or working towards accreditation with the Association of Christian Counsellors. All receive regular supervision and are accountable to the organisation for the quality of work with their clients.
